Prayer for the birth of a child

How to Pray to Conceive a Child?
Many married couples, whether immediately or after some time, begin to long for children to continue their lineage and bring new joy into their lives. Unfortunately, not everyone can experience the fullness of life through childbirth, as stress, illnesses, and congenital conditions deprive many of the happiness of motherhood and fatherhood. But to whom do we turn in moments of sorrow and joy? To our Heavenly Father. Thousands of people seek a powerful prayer for conception, childbirth, and overcoming infertility. The deep yearning to fulfill God’s will through the birth of children leads many to search for a way out of an unfavorable situation. Turn to God through the strongest collective prayer for conception.
For many years in Bulgaria, a collective prayer for pregnancy and conception has been offered—where Orthodox believers across the world pray at the same time for the blessing of conceiving a healthy child and for the resolution of similar difficulties.
Every Sunday, four times a day (at 2:30, 8:30, 14:30, and 20:30 Moscow time), at the Resurrection Skete, the prayer for conception and the birth of a healthy child is recited before the icon of the Theotokos, "Unexpected Joy."
Prayer for the Birth of a Healthy Child
Conceiving a child is only the beginning of the journey, followed by the challenges of carrying the pregnancy and giving birth. It is best for the entire family to pray together for the birth of a healthy child. For the preservation of pregnancy and the well-being of an unborn baby still in the mother’s womb, prayers are offered through the Akathist to the Theotokos, "Unexpected Joy."
How to Pray During Childbirth?
Before and during childbirth, prayers to the Theotokos should not cease but only intensify! A pregnant woman can pray on her own before delivery, reading the Akathist to the Theotokos, "Unexpected Joy," asking for a safe, healthy, and easy birth. During labor itself, her loved ones should also pray the same Akathist, seeking the intercession of the Most Pure Mother Mary, who herself gave birth to the Son of God.
Should a Mother Pray for Her Daughter to Have a Child?
A mother’s prayer is the strongest prayer. When daughters, after getting married, struggle to conceive and give birth to a long-awaited child, their mothers and potential grandmothers should pray sincerely to the Lord for the blessing of a child. The best way to pray is by turning to the Most Pure Theotokos, whose maternal intercession before Her Son can obtain any gift and fulfill any request—so long as it is for our good. Thus, let us pray together with all Orthodox believers, reading the Akathist to the Most Holy Mother of God before Her icon, "Unexpected Joy." May the Lord grant all of us the fulfillment of our heartfelt requests at the time known to Him!
