Strengthening by the Relics of the Saint Nicholas (Italy)

St. Nicholas, the Saint of Christ... Saint Nicholas, the Christ-Pleasing Wonderworker… Who does not know his holy name?! Not only Orthodox Christians, but the entire Christian world honors him! His sacred relics rest in Bari, Italy, where this great intercessor of God abides in prayer. Though many parts of his relics are spread across the world—just like his boundless love—this is the place he chose for his eternal rest, where a special liturgical prayer is regularly offered to him.

Every Thursday, Orthodox Christians have the right to enter this sacred temple and celebrate the Divine Liturgy directly over his holy relics. Likewise, every Thursday in Orthodox Bolgar, an Akathist Hymn is offered to St. Nicholas in prayerful unity. And there, in Italy—so spiritually close to us—a prayer is lifted that strengthens the prayers of countless faithful who join in spirit with those in Bolgar.
