Strengthening by the Relics of Saint Spyridon of Trimythous (Corfu Island)

Since ancient times, Orthodox Christians have experienced the extraordinary and remarkable power of the prayers of St. Spyridon of Trimythous. Even in the most extreme, worldly, and seemingly material—not spiritual—needs, people have turned to this great servant of God, who himself came from the simplest of origins. A laborer from childhood, a man with calloused hands, he became a bishop. He was and remains to this day a beacon, an intercessor for those who turn to him in prayer.

The saint, who accomplished the feat of his salvation and the salvation of others on the island of Cyprus, now rests with his holy relics on the island of Corfu. Here, especially near his relics, the lamp of Orthodox prayers burns unceasingly, along with the reciprocal fire of his prayers for all and everything.
